The WORST change since release - reversed category tiering on items

This was for the POE 1 (loud) audience and its confusing as F now hahaha

I'm not a POE 1 player and I think this is the best change ever. Took me zero seconds to get used to it, makes it VERY easy to know if the loot is good or not and that speeds up mapping and checking the ground items by A LOT.

The only real confusion I can see now is the naming of unidentified rare's power - "tier 1" unid is worse than "tier 5" unid, yet tier 1 mod is better than tier 5 mod. That might be confusing for new players. I would change the naming of unid power-level from "tier" to something else, like make it "1 star unid" or "5 star unid".
That's just how is it implemented in Path of Exile 1, and since Path of Exile 2 is canonically a continuation of 1, it makes sense to have tiers implemented same way (when it applies to items).

The whole point of Path of Exile 2 is to not repeat all of the same mistakes, bloat, and overcomplicated idiosyncrasies of POE1 over again.

Inverting the tiers was not the only way to solve the problem. It was just the way that POE1 players would be familiar with. They could have instead just told you what tier is the highest.

It could be something very easy that doesn't take up much characters, like putting "(of T12)" or something to the right of the roll tier.
lol I just don't.... This is still the stupidest thing to complain about. I didn't care before the change, I don't care after the change.

People who wanted it change were silly and people who want it changed back are also silly.
It's not silly to want consistent game design. It's basic UI/UX and game design stuff here. That's the point of early access feedback.

People who complained before had a valid point that it took too much work to know what the highest tier rolls were.

People who are complaining now have a valid point that making the tiers of the item rolls work backwards compared to the tiers of maps or items is confusing and inconsistent.

Both are valid points, and a proper solution would address both issues. You don't have to introduce a new problem to fix another. You just fix the problem differently.
