new Temporal Chains - what's happening ?

Btw I wonder if those hostile curses can still target you in tight spaces. Because there was a long-time bug of players unable to cast curses if enough increased aoe was stacked and an object with large collision box was present, like ritual altar. Also maps with tight corridors were unplayable for curse builds.

Maybe delivering a new way of screwing the players was the incentive GGG needed to finally fix the bug?:)
I mean some players were saying they got curses less frequent than others, try keeping near landscape objects on curse maps.
Thought it was a buff? Instead of running temp chains entire map its only sometimes when encountering enemies. I did run a few waystones yesterday and the only time I encountered temp chains was in waystones with temp chains on. Sure the effect is greater but im cursed less than before. Rnadom encounters with curses hasnt happened to me yet at all.

Who came up with this, who tested it? People say that they avoid maps with Temporal Chains because it is impossible to play on such maps. You yourself admit that the character feels SLOW, with a 20% slowdown it is already impossible to play normally, even if you have additional running speed. And what does the new patch "please" us with? Even more slowdown, with an AoE area, with constant casts of this area. If you get into this area, while you are fighting and you are stacked/slowed - the end, you can be in a slowdown indefinitely. This change is like a very, VERY bad joke.
It's like you want people NOT to play the game.

Create a Loadout stash tab. Put anti-slow or anti-curse gear in it. Wear that gear when running the map. Easy peasy.

If the purpose is to have players equip special gear to counter the debuff, the map should clearly indicate this. Otherwise, the debuff will just repel players, which isn’t a good idea if you want to attract casuals from D4.

By the way, I rarely read map descriptions (too much effort)... I just check their rarity. I'm pretty sure most people do the same.

agree, this change sucks ass. They need to revert it. i would so so much rather have the previous curse iterations it is such a fucking hassle.

I'm telling you how you can get better at the game, and your response is that you currently don't play very well, because it's too much effort to read. I try to see the other side in most of these forum threads, but this entire topic feels like a skill issue.
While I am glad that GGG introduced a change to how the temporal chains mod work, I agreed that the new implementation feels really bad.

In the past, you get a constant slow throughout the whole map. This is something you can get used to. The implementation now means you sometimes get slowed and sometimes are not, which makes the slow much more noticeable, even without accounting for the increased magnitude.

There is also the issue that when you get caught in one slow, you are more likely that you will be caught in another. This punishes builds that do not have constant access to travel/movement skills, which encourages more zoom zoom builds.

I would like to note that this new implementation feels fine for other curses, but the slow from temporal chains just feels notably worse than before. I believe this change is targeted for temporal chains since other curses were not that big of an issue even before the change, which means I have cannot agree that this change has improve the experience with this map mod.

you were previously talking to me, i can see now you are not trolling. I wont bother changing my gear for some shitty curse, I clear my maps in 1-2 minutes. Temporal chains are not stopping me but adding 30 sec - 1 minute more to my map and thats all. Previously i could skip temporal chains just by selling maps with this mod, now im forced to play with it

I just ran a map with temporal chains by accident and holy s**t is this bad. It's even worse than it was before. My character now comes to almost a stand still. It says -40% on the icon but there must be something severly off with the math because this feels like 40% of base movement speed at best.

Honestly don't get how and why this gets approved. Who tests this and goes "yea players gonna love this challenge!", particularely after players have complained about temporal chains for the duration of the whole league.

i think you missed whole point of this converstation xD
After 0.2.1 was introduced you are cursed 90% of time idk the added new monsters to every pack that curses everything around or something

Read your map mods. Additionally in the patch they've made it so more varied monsters appear in maps, so if your waystone doesn't say it's affected by some curse but you're getting hit by curses and don't know why -- it's likely one of these various monsters. Look around for a Filthy Crone or something.

And people that are still complaining about this stuff, go buy some Craiceann's Rune of Warding. This game gives you the tools to overcome obstacles but everyone literally just wants to ignore that, press button, receive loot.
