Exp loss on death is too punitive.

What GGG has done is created a system that doesn't give the illusion, it straight wastes players time, I spend a whole day grinding maps playing like a little baby not having fun sweating through every layer of clothing trying not to die and keep my exp, do this for 4 hours and it feels like 8 and really leaves me feeling like wtf is the point? like makes me want to not play, THEN AFTER ALL THAT EFFORT, IM STROLLING ALONG LOOKING FOR LOOT JUST TO BE ONE SHOT BY A MOB NOT ON MY SCREEN... No biggie I mean I have a omen on, protecting 75% of exp I lose, it just means I HAVE TO THROW THIS MAP... IF I RISK ANOTHER DEATH ON THIS MAP THAT WOULD MEANING LOSING 100% OF EXP, So Omens protect exp at the cost of only being able to use 1 a map, so really only useful in maps with 0 revives, There is no illusion here, it is time being wasted, That 4 hours spent playing can all be lost in 1 singular map, 4 hours lost in 4 mins, thats just not fair or respecting players time in any way, and is why the whole community is so frustrated and feels this way, like in POE1 you can just sit there and tank theres no dodge button, not in POE2, you have to constantly be on edge, Past level 90, theres no point in trying to level up as its just a constant waste of time, theres point to grinding the endgame content but when it feels like my time spent on this game goes nowhere and leads to nothing because of this whole EXP loss it makes me NOT WANT TO GRIND ENDGAME CONTENT AS IT JUST FEELS MEANINGLESS.

Exactly. after lvl 96, it's simply a waste of my time. I stopped playing this game for this reason. Maybe I'll try in a few patches. Getting one or double shot from birds spitting exploding poison from off the screen is more stressful than my life. Much better games to play, like Dark Souls or Elden Ring. GGG manufactures cheap deaths to make the game feel like it's challenging, but it's terribly balanced and needs much refining.

Been playing Elden Ring since uninstalling POE2. It's much more challenging and I can actually recover my XP if I make a mistake. The golden rune mechanic is great it's basically reserved XP that I won't lose on death.

If I lose all my runes it's because I was careless and put myself in a bad situation with a boss beyond my level. In POE2, if I make one little mistake or get instantly surrounded by a mob with ridiculous modifiers I lose hours of grinding and just turn the game off.

This isn't complicated. GGG is just completely clueless at this point and I've lost all faith in them. Even if they gave me the option to recover my XP near where I died, I guarantee they'll find some other punishment that will piss me off, they just can't help themselves

Dont shoot the messenger, pain model or punishment model is a tool to change gameplay style.

I never die from 1 shot its the damm bleed, but i should be looking at my hp more so its my fault (so my gameplay changed to be ready for the bleed) the model does work.

Hate it all you want, i used to be against the exp loss, i still think the amount of loss is too big, it can be much less for similar results.

GGG will never change this as it works

What's your class and build. If you are using an op class with es and op gear that costs a ton of divs then you have no room to talk. Play Merc in the 90s and let us know how that goes

agree: You waste your time. GGG is stubborn with this idea.

As a player, I can even accept that you will continue to enlarge the experience required for upgrading to avoid the setting of death deduction experience (which makes players feel very uncomfortable). )
xp loss must be removed from game and temporal chains

"Burner account" my a**. Is my account a "burner account" because I don't have fanboy supporter badges, or something? Obviously you are unable to be objective here. Many of us are trying to like this game...REALLY trying because there are many great aspects to the game. But many of us, who grew up in the 80s and 90s on video games actually have careers now. The loss of XP is a kick in the balls when we are already down on the ground. 10% of XP loss now translates to days or a week of my life at high level. By the way, I don't look up someone else's build guide to copy so that I can clear content. For me, half of the game is designing my own char. If only a handful of builds are viable, then the game is unbalanced and non-diverse for an RPG and there is no point to most skills. For those of us who set the goal to max the power of our own off-meta char, we can't do it in reasonable time unless we spend way too many hours of the day to do so. [Removed by Support] If GGGs philosophy is to disrespect my time for the facade of challenge, then I guess we must move on to actually challenging and rewarding games. I keep bringing this up, but these developers need to play the Souls games again...and again while taking many notes on challenge and progression. Either balance the game to give players real counterplay against BS OP mob modifiers and off-screen one-shots, or remove the XP loss. Anyway, I hope this feedback matters.
