why does ggg seem to hate melee builds?
is it just me or does melee builds need more range skills to avoid bad game setup to keep from dying so fast trying to kill a lousy rare with a stupid blood circle around them where ya can't heal and have to run in hit the rare run out heal up run back in hit rare run back out heal up and lets not forget the 20 mobs that are beating ya down while ya try to get a few hits on said rare and before you get killed cause ya cant heal you have to run out heal up and run back in hit rare and this is just 1 of many many examples of how bad this game is for melee

I think they should implement more 'Root' affixes. Periodically the monster would apply the debuff to anything that has aggroed it. It wasn't a slow and did not prevent any actions except movement. D3 had one called Jailer and it was the bane for many ranged builds. That version also had a minor DoT attached to it.

" I think developers experience their own game differently. They dont see a bunch of problems only melee player have. They see so much features they worked hard to implement. yea like the rare that has the blue ring that drains mana, I have no clue as to why they now gave them an aoe also so now ya can't stand in the ring because they drop the same mana drain all over the ground so, as a melee they seemed to have wanted to make that rare harder as well, because to fight it decently one needs ranged skills otherwise its run in hit the mob then said mob starts dropping aoes all over, so ya run away and wait for mob to move from said aoe then run in hit the mob till it drops more aoe then run away and........well fight the mob far longer far far far longer than 1 should have to, someone playing ranged 10 levels lower could kill it way faster than a melee and be several maps ahead by the time a melee kills rare and completes map unless there happens to be 2 lol

there are some melee builds that are VERY strong. might want to look over your build and gear.
ill add a little more. max out all resists and get a cushion for when your ele cursed. your goal as melee is to kill faster than they kill you. if your having to retreat to heal your damage is to low. also HUGE aoe is best friend. on my warrior my earthquakes reach well beyond the screen edge. couple that sort of thing with a herald and blow up the whole screen. they cant kill you if they are dead (one shots withstanding) p.s. i used to think like you did, now my warrior is the strongest character i have ever made (home brew build) 最後に dmc9014#4875 が 2025/06/14 12:40:34 に編集

I haven't played melee this league, but I actually enjoyed it in the first one. It felt great during campaign (granted it needed to be a more methodical playstyle), but started to fall apart in mapping. I switched over to a totem build and it was easy street. Ironic that the easiest build for warrior was just spam totems and avoid any actual combat. Wanted to try a smith this league but just didn't given how they ramped up difficulty. Maybe it's not as bad now. Totems were fun, but kind of a cheesy build IMO. Haven't really looked into warrior much since last league, but unless they figure out how to make Armor/health a reliable defense strat I felt it was annoying to build around without the need for ES.

" No, the guy that responded to you is completely right. You're not playing melee build. Exploding everything from 3 screens away and not needing to get within even 20 meters from the closest enemy is more ranged than a lot of ranged builds go. There's a lot of mechanics, rare affixes and enemy/boss attacks that are dangerous only if you're in melee range and any ranged build completely outplays them by just being able to deal full damage from 20 meters away and at any point of the screen. And ranged characters usually are also more tanky, more mobile and deal more damage. So yeah, I think dev balance team doesn't have a single Warrior fan in it. And I did play both. Switching to ranged build makes it so much easier to play. A lot of bosses straight up turn into a joke and can do nothing to you. |
