I think what might help you contextualize things a little more realistically is if you understood that the overwhelming majority of people playing this game have no idea who either of those people are.

A game that alienates ALL of their streamers basically fired their marketing department. They are in trouble when they do that. In fact its worse because now people wont play because of the streamers. So you take ALL of your POE1 streamers and tell them "no you are wrong, the audience is wrong, the players are wrong and if you don't like it buzz off." They buzzed off and are streaming other games. Anyone who doesn't think that is a problem is on a HEAVY dose of copium.

or they have access to more data than you do and understand that you are actually the minority...Steam charts tell a small picture of how games work. So maybe instead of spending countless hours bashing this game that you clearly don't like. Perhaps spend more time playing games you like and moving on with your life.

No its copium. Its not wanting to see reality. This isnt a college project or a charity. Its a business. When you have no marketing or even worse negative marketing you find dead games, cancelled projects and layoffs at the bottom of that pit.

They built the most brilliant masterpiece of a game ever concieved. A game that threatened even gargantuan Diablo. And thin in POE2 they blew it. They went backwards 10y. Unless they figure it out and build a real sequel and fire the guy that says "we need to make it super hard so people die a lot to whites." They need to go back to what worked.

Yeah, so here's the thing you need to come to terms with: it's not 2016 anymore. The PoE1 streamers who had GGG in a stranglehold aren't nearly as important as you think they are anymore. That's what GGG and Tencent learned with the launch of PoE2 and that's why they chose to reallocate resources to PoE2 despite knowing how angry it would make these streamers and their viewers and all of the diehard PoE1 fans.

It's kind of wild that you seem to understand this but you don't see that the business is telling you you're wrong. The business is why the reallocated resources to PoE2 to the detriment of PoE1. He thinks that just because the same 20-30 people here are screaming this game sucks and the steam numbers dropped that the game is dead. Its asinine to think that GGG doesn't have access to a complete data set to know how to allocate resources properly.

POE never had any advertising and still gained players every league. Each leagues in POE they have lost half the player base.

But you and I wont agree.

Hope the streamers are truly gone, not just crying to get attention and their tiny blackmail out. All they want to do is transform 2 into 1 as much as possible, which is stupid - 2 will never have the speed, nr of projectiles and complexity of 1, but the more the former will resemble the latter, the more probable it is that 1 will be axed. I don't want that, I love 2 but it can only exist as is if 1 is still around.

The right approach imo is to let GGG craft 2 as it was meant to be, count that the new audience will show up, and money will be good enough to mantain 2 great games and bring 1 up to speed in graphics department. Wouldn't take much either, textures to the level of Kingsmarch, models to the level of latest mtx and it's beautiful to tears. I wouldn't even like 1 ported to 2's engine, I like it but all the fancy colours wouldn't fit 1.
