XP loss on death is seriously demotivating

I think the majority of current players are the ones playing and enjoying the game. While the minority are the ones lurking on forums complaining.
And I think the majority of players understand whats happening on their screen, not to say that there are never exceptions where you might have alot of clutter on your screen and overlook something.

You don't have to agree with it for it to be accurate. It doesn't change that it is factual.

If Ziz can get randomly oneshot while playing HC the way he does, then it is an absolute certainty for all who play in softcore and don't have 30k+ hours in PoE.

Also just fyi Zizaran didnt die to a "random one shot". He died to Arbiter of Ash, to a mechanic that in no way is random.
He to some extent "yolod" it because he wanted to play last epoch and was hoping that maybe his character was tanky enough to tank it. No part of this was random and it was immediately obvious what he died to. His only complaint was that the mechanic was hard to see but then also justifying it with saying it was the first time he did the fight.
And even if for the sake of argument we could say that maybe that Arbiter mechanic needs better visibility (which I dont personally think) then that is in no way shape or form an excuse to claim that the entire game is filled with "random one shots".

[Removed by Support]. Ziz is playing PoE for a VERY LONG TIME. Tens of thousands of hours. He has had countless oneshots on hundreds of characters. You only name the last death he had. ... and it was still a ONESHOT. ... AND it is getting changed because it was shit to see where the borders are. So its acknowledged that it was LACKING.

Ever seen Mathils visual glitches? No ? Never? They are there , recorded.


Ziz also put forward a QUESTION: Should the target of the Boss be to KILL YOU or PREVENT YOU FROM GETTING LOOT?
Because those two thing don't have to be tied together.

There is literally not a single map in endgame that isn't literred with visual clutter, fx bonanza, weird artifacts from dynamic resolution, slow downs and rubber banding from server issues etc. pp.

How am I the one being disingenious? Im not claiming to have watched 100% of zizarans content and knowing all his deaths. You claimed that he died to a random one shot, without providing any evidence, I did a quick check and quickly found out that his death was to Arbiter of ash to a mechanic that in no way is random. You are now saying that he has multiple deaths this league to "random unavoidable one shots". I am no longer going to take your word for it since youve already revealed yourself to be making stuff up.

So please instead of just making false statements and trying to present them as facts and hoping no one checks it.
Please provide evidence of these "random unavoidable one shot" mechanics.

All monster damage calculations in arpg involve randomness, poe included. Even if this specific pinnacle boss wasn't affected by a list of area modifiers, there are no 2 casts that do same damage.

Which is why top-down diablo-style arpg can NEVER be a souls-like experience, poe included. Attempting to jury-rig harsh penalties to hazards players have no control over achieves nothing but causing part of the playerbase to quit. Same goes for trying to fit parry-riposte mechanics, it just stops working when there are 20 monsters on screen all using different kinds of attacks.

I fail to see what your point is or how its in any way related to my comment.

Its not a random mechanic, its a mechanic the boss uses everytime.
If the mechanic hits you, you die. There is no part about it thats random.
And all the complaints your listing are not related to this boss or its mechanics.

This right here. I don't like the XP loss, but it isn't what drives the rage from dying. It's all the other time and resources you put into the single map.
