Absolutely agree. I guess that was my whole long winded point. The problem is anyone not stuck in one of these classes or skill sets that doesnt perform on par with 'meta' type builds that ARE currently one shot screen clearing, has a totally different in game experience. Sadly any attempt to explain it is immediately dismissed as having a skill or build issue.

I'm not asking for them to be nerfed, I would like to just have the same experience, even if its just a different 'element'. I chose cold, it sucks ballz but looks fantastic. Except when I can't really tell the mobs I've frozen from any of the chilled ground or Ice crystals I've formed. They become almost invisible to make out white on white.

I see people posting their difficulties trying to play with half the EHP that I have, & I still have someone responded suggesting I get more ES? But thats kind of my point? How? I would love to take C.I but I cant find a set up that will replace the 1200hps I would lose, or remove the max life slots that consistently roll. Or find gear that will give me more than the 4k I currently have.

I have tried to craft that many bases only to have it turn sub par to what I am weearing. My current chest is like 650 at my level. Havent seen anything that comes close. Wish I had a dollar for every time i spammed thorns or accuracy on my potential caster bases. I cannot target craft to get myself out of the rut. I cant progress further into more difficult mapping to get a chance at picking up better gear than what I am wearing. Probably could alleviate some of the issues by purchasing gear through trade, but its so poorly implemented that I am not interested in accessing external apps to make
use of it. In game auction I could use.

Tried respeccing to get more ES, but I lose in other areas, regen, regen delay, dps. It makes no difference. Im just stuck in this weird limbo where I log on grit my teeth, get the shits up after an hour or so and log off where I started. Back at the start of my level. Its pointless.
Well, if you wanna freeze, invest in freeze buildup, no?
The path that witch/ sorc has is absolutely useless for anything except minions and curses. The only good nodes for ele (pen/ +1 to skills) become relevant at some of the latest stages of the builds.

The spells also generally lack QOL and feel bad to use. If we use Cold as an example, the things meant to combo together actually work against each other. Cold snap unfreezes the target manually, which gives them freeze resist, it can explode frost bolts, but the frostbolt explosion is so low damage it doesn't do anything, frost nova is cast on frostbolts, which only reduces uptime. Pretty much the only combo piece that works well is Frost Wall, but the funny thing is it has no real synergies it is just a good spell with high innate freeze buildup and damage.

I think this causes most of the disparity. The starting tree for spellcasters is simply bad for spellcasters and the spells have more anti-synergy than they do synergy.

to the op, i feel your pain.

heres some cold hard facts.

dont ever expect to get geared from drops. either you play trade or your screwed.

dont even try to craft, its a complete waste of currency.

Sekhema's is really just about the relics, grind your ass off for them or buy from trade if you can find them. a good set of relics turns the experience from a hell slog to nearly brain dead simple.

there is very little build diversity. either your using skills that work well or your going to suffer.

you cant make up for bad skill gems or poor gear in the passive tree. the passive tree has had all of the fun stuff removed.

the vision of meaningful combat is a lie. you either kill mobs in one or two shots or your dead.
Cold Sorc is bad since day one, kill rate is very slow but hey, stuff dies frozen. Anyway I'm expecting a buff in 0.3 or at least before 1.0

As for trials, they are skill based but also luck based which can be manipulated in a way with relics. The better you know this place and how it function, the easier it gets.

Good point, and i think this is not limited to sorc.
Too many skills that seem like they should work together actually have anti-synergies due to inherent mechanics or restrictions on them.
In the end you feel (or at least I do) like you only have a few narrow path to put up something that even mechanically works.
It can get pretty frustrating.

Just roll. You don't take damage when you roll through them, just position your landing to not go into the trap (the mine basically), that one usually does some damage.

lol @ skill issue regarding sekhema trials.
Sekhema is bad design and that is all it is. Can it be navigated better with experience ? Sure it can. That still doesn't mean it's well designed. I just finished another run. Got no trouble whatsoever getting to the 4th floor boss but that's mostly due to a combination of luck, some experience and the fact that i am now level 95 and am wearing godly gear. In the end, it all didn't matter because when i got to the boss (of the second time only of only two attempts made so far because of both in-game rape procedures, i prefer to be raped by the chaos trial so been focusing mostly on that one), my boss run ended in less than 2 minutes since after getting him down somewhat, he started a phase i never even got to see the first time, didnt know what to do and just got booted out for not doing what i apparently needed to do, whatever it may be.
Now sure, i could've looked up boss mechanics before i tried the run, but where is the fun in that ? If i need streamers to show me how to play a game, then it's a bad game. Then again, who would've thought a developer would be so asinine stupid to place a boss that absolutely requires prior knowledge to beat, at the end of a 45 minute trial (and TRIAL is the right word here) so when you finally get there and like to play your games yourself, you're sure to fail on ? Back to the RNG fest then that is chaos trials i guess. Sekhema is not fun and it is not well designed from any objective point of view.
