Do you mean the logic of Elden Ring is a one and done game so .
Logically what you are seeing is the launch and then the combined decrease from attrition and finishing the game. Elden Ring is not cyclical. If GGG's ambition was to copy Elden Ring then gratz. Those players are gone or done with PoE2. The Elden Ring numbers represent PvP players.
PoE is not Elden Ring
If it ever aspires to be, it is dead.
PoE2 has never reversed its downward trend.
Yes goofball, because PoE, D3, D4, Last Epoch, PoE2 and every other online ARPG since the dawn of time doesn't drastically dip in player count 2 weeks after the start of a new league, let alone 4-6 weeks after. The second a new league drops you'll get the same 200k players you always do if not more depending on the size of the update.
I honestly don't know what point you and the OP are trying to make outside of either being trolls or[Removed by Support]. The fact I might actually have to explain the point in comparing to ER is baffling to me. He's clearly not comparing genres, but stating that regardless of how huge the game, without new content the numbers will obviously drop. I mean there is no planet you don't grasp that, right? Yet here we are.
There is one point in PoE2 where the trend is flat from the 8th to the 10th of April. Since launch the peaks have been lower each time .. a constant downward trend.
As Opposed to PoE1 where over time the peaks get larger and larger. Indicating a growth trend.
You grasping that ?
Should i use small words and basic shapes?
If you were on a pair of roller skates .... and PoE2 was the hill .. you would still be at high velocity down ... as nothing would stop you ....
Whereas PoE 1 on roller skates you would have stopped moving years ago because your total speed is 0 from constantly going up hills larger than the one you came from ...
Next week ill cover.

There are fundamental differences between Alpha / Beta and early access.
This isn't preference, it is industry standard.
You are not correct. That was true 15 years ago. It is not true today.

I'm enjoying early access. If you're not, take a break, after all its just early access.
I can't wait to see what the game is like when it officially launches and is no longer Early Access.

The Elden Ring numbers represent PvP players.
Got a source for that claim? Just curious
Yes there is an active PvP community that props up the numbers.
that's not a source. but alright.
*to be clear i interpreted your claim as saying the 40k concurrent players were mostly pvp players

No, I don't enjoy wasting my time on people such as yourself. You're here to claim doom and gloom for some unknown reason when you and everyone will be here for the start of next league as you always are. Unlike you when I don't like something I don't spend time on it and wish for it's downfall, I go find something I enjoy and support that. Maybe you and all your forum trolls should try it.

Keeping it real brah!
This game is not Elden Ring.
If it aspires to be its dead.
It has been trending downward since launch.
Life aint unicorns and rainbows
who does more for the game ?
People who criticize it and highlight flaws.
or
Those who really really think the good things will happen
all on their own. Just close your eyes and wish really really hard.
Click your heels together and repeat.
Theres no butt like GGG butt
Theres no butt like GGG butt
If you press your lips together and kiss super hard
you can almost taste ass!!
No one said it is, it's not trying to be. Thanks for acting like a 13 year old despite being in your mid 40s guy.

Like they charged $30 for something that has more content and polish than 95% of other triple A games while proceeding to give you free content updates for life after that. Please stop this weird fascination with wanting to be a victim...over a video game no less.
EU Servers have been unplayable for over a month now... I couldn't play the bit of content their is, even if I wanted to.
No i did not spend 'hours' watching some streams and interviews, I have better things to do.

Guess what, 10k are bots. This will go down as one of the most spectacular failures of all time. Pretty sad tbh. Coulda been amazing
Same reply I used in similar thread ….
Not sure why this bothers you (and the other people who’s only skill seems to be able to check steam charts), I can see why it might bother GGG but you not so much.
You either like the game, then just play it!
Dislike the game, the go forth and play something else but your posts offer nothing!
OR best of all do a list of top 5 things you want to see changed, why and how (nether fun not accessible are, say what specifically).

There are fundamental differences between Alpha / Beta and early access.
This isn't preference, it is industry standard.
They sold us on Early access, not a beta, because no one would pay to play 1/3 of a game in Beta...this implies the majority/base of the game is in a playable state, with a few bugs, of which to build upon.
I think you missed it why Early Access has been invited.
Back in the days only a handfull of people have been invited to test a game before it has been released.....And with "testing" I litteraly mean testing.
I remember when 1 of our friends got an invite to the Diablo 2 Beta....we were 8 firends who have been in his home day & night & tested the game....best "Multiplayer" experiance ever. :)
We've played it day and night and sent dozens of pages with feedback per E-Mail to Blizzard North.
But those entrances were limited and more & more people complained "why can't I play the Beta.....I WANT TO PLAY NOW, I'm even willing to pay every prize!!!11!!"
Due to this complain of 1000s of player they've invented the Early Access model....means you can pay a small fee to participate the Beta.
The problem is that many people nowdays completely forgot the reason beihind EA or don't even know this and this leads to comments like yours.
The game is in BETA, half of the stuff is not even in the game yet and everything will come together as soon as it's implemented....just chill & playtest the game in it's current but very uncomplete form (and give construcitve feedback) or chill and wait till 1.0 release if you want a complete game. ;)

The problem is that the moment companies decided to monetize unfinished games, they opened the flood gates.
A lot of people also seem to forget that "selling a product" comes with consequences, i.e. people starting to evaluate the worth of said product. It doesn't matter how it's labeled at that point. Money was exchanged, and with that certain expectations are set.
At this point, Early Access and Beta are the same for all intents and purposes. Enough companies have co-opted these words to make any historic differences meaningless.
