Why did you stop playing the game?

The game in it's entirety sucks, there isn't a single thing about it that is good.

The focus of my interest is, those who are still reading the forum but no longer playing with the game, why did you stop what the reason or reasons were?

1. Stupid XP Penalty
2. No crafting (slot machine instead)
3. Stupid Trade (force people to buy illegally materials from third part webs)
4. No META system for multiplayer (even tetris has more strategy)
5. Stupid Trials (for extra points you sacrifice your whole patience)
6. Stupid combo Shield/Mana/Life
7. Stupid Critical Kills from random mobs which is INTENTIONALLY (for this info I will be ban again...I do not care because I know is true)
8. Stubbornness of GGG (They think that they are smart and try reinvent the wheel not watching great solutions from other ARP games)
9. Transformation PoE2 into Souls ARPG
Well, the absolutely brilliant Clair Obscur Expedition 33 came out. And then Helldivers 2 had a major event where the third faction finally invaded in force. And now Elden Ring Nightreign is out and I've been having a blast with that (a lot more than I expected). It's not necessarily that I was driven away so much as I was drawn elsewhere.

GGG may have miscalibrated in trying to appeal to a broader audience, particularly people who enjoy skill based gameplay and methodical combat, because how many of those are the type to stick around and grind endlessly? How many newcomers will play through the campaign, dabble with the endgame, and then leave for the next experience?

I couldn't get into PoE1 since it was so easy as to be dull, but I really enjoyed PoE2 and I look forward to the full release. However, the endgame got repetitive and boring pretty quickly, and the flaws in the design approach started to become more evident.

It also didn't help that I was playing a witch that was most viable by using minions (vaal guards or something at the time) that throw fire grenades and I felt bad joining random groups because nobody could see anything with my minions carpet bombing the world. I stopped playing with groups because I didn't want to ruin anyone's experience but then playing by myself was monotonous. It wasn't hard to pull me away.
Because it certainly seems that the devs don't have any idea what to do with this game. They copied worst parts of PoE1 as a base game, and now they've been wandering aimlessly for months without any proper direction or updates. The only goal right now seems to be to keep the game as bot/rmt-friendly as possible.

I'm trying to come back to see patch notes but it just goes worse all the time, and they try to handle this as a complete game with leagues already.
Just to remind: is 2025, the time when people sacrifice whole time for gaming is finished. People try to relax not to frustrate, people do not want seep mechanics, stupid XP penalties. People want to play with family and enjoy with relatives.
GGG lives in past tense
It is clear by business point of view that what GGG doing now is simple madness.
Well, tbh, i'm still playing, but i'm not spending.
However, i have and still do concur with everything being said here.
This game is garbage. Sadly, it's still better than the utter bottom-of-the-barrel waste produced by blizzard, which is the main reason i'm still clinging on here. I'm sure though that if i ever make the effort of starting my playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3 and some others, that it won't take much to keep me away for a considerable amount of time at least.
Having watched that last Japanese streamer's interview with Jonathan, it has become clear that he WILL push this idea of 'meaningful' combat through, despite the fact that he doesn't have a clue what it means, and apparently, neither does anyone else at GGG, evidenced by the horrible flaws prevalent everywhere.
He claims the bigger skill tree is supposed to offer more meaningful choices than the nodes in POE 1's tree that sometimes felt obligatory to take, such as the stat nodes.
As someone who has played both extensively, i feel the exact opposite is true. Yes, the stat nodes in POE1 were taken a lot, because they offered flexibility. Getting the stats and resists in the tree allowed one to switch around gear pieces with ease without screwing yourself over. Changing 1 piece in POE 2 will fuck up your resists and stats. But they were in no sense mandatory to take. A bunch of crafting methods allowed replacing those easily. In POE2, i do not feel as i have ANY other viable choice for ANY of my points than the ones i'm taking now or i would be gimping myself severely on damage and/or defense front.
Further along in the interview, he seems to imply that because we have to dodge roll from time to time, this makes the combat meaningful. I won't even comment on that one.

And so on and so on i guess. Clearly, his idea of meaningful is what we've gotten so far and i'm not seeing any indication that things will change in the future.
From what i've heard, he once stated that he didn't care too much about all the complaining after O.2, as long as people kept coming back.

I guess the numbers might be the only thing to make him see more clear on this. But as long as that doesn't happen, i don't see a bright future for POE 2 and it surely will not be on my long-term list either.

It wasn't fun.
Mostly being punished for bugs both seasons.

Bricked maps due to them being finished and then not getting credit. First season was a citadel tower and this second one was a unique map (essence one).

Permanent punish is a fine mechanic when your game is not on fire in every corner. I didn't mess up, the developers did and yet I get the crap end of the stick... no thanks.

And the specters not functioning for 2 months post release was unacceptable, not to mention they still BARELY work as is.
i like the game a lot, played it hundreads houres if not thousand then after doing all the content i get bowred. It's perfectly fine imo i don't get ppl who hate on a game they have played for 200+ houres lol, if i don't like a game i play it for like 5h max :D
I still ocasionaly try some hcssf run for fun.
The ridiculous xp loss system did it for me
