GET RID OF XP LOSS! Not fun at all, bad game design!

Jonathan said that as an off-the-cuff suggestion in a pre-release interview. Yeah he's the main guy but he obviously listens to his team as well as players.

In the most recent one he basically admitted he was having second thoughts about the idea behind it (see quote above) and deferred to Mark who seemed to want to go in a different direction.

That most recent interview very much suggested that something will change and it almost certainly won't be the 1-portal system but one of the other axes. And TBH I'm not sure what other axes there are as most of the losses are tied to the 1-portal.

Sure, there's some room for interpretation. But to keep trying to tell people this won't change so stop giving feedback on it, which would have made sense in POE1 forums, is not convincing when it comes to POE2.

The interview had no interpretation, both devs want it in the game still. The only comment they had was the one above

Yes, on this we agree. At least WRT Mark. Jonathan actually said he would like people to be able to reattempt maps by plugging a new waystone but didn't think they could do it due to exploits. But Mark seemed vehemently opposed to that.

XP loss on its own is fine, maybe it should only start kicking in at lvl 90 and be reduced a bit, but level 100 needs to remain as a real achievement and not just something you need to brute force with time played.

There wasn't really any achievement after reaching 100.

People are also brute forcing at level 95s+ whenever they reach enough passive points for their build and just focus on farming for currency so there's truly no difference.
if the devs think having this is good at least make sure your game runs fine, both in fps and internet side of it, the number of mini lags i had and killed me, the number of times you die to random visual stuff that you dont see shouldnt be the norm, the end game feels really like go the most broken sustain build and "enjoy it".
XP loss isn't going away.

People have been whining about XP loss since Alpha of the first game, so you'll have to wait a while, minimum 11 years at least.
Remove xp loss or make it optional.

Yes, but it’s a game, and some of us just want to have fun, not deal with constant frustration.

What’s so wrong about adding a league that caters to more casual players while keeping the current leagues exactly as they are? I don’t understand why some of you are so against it. Does it hurt your fragile ego?

Plenty of players would appreciate a more accessible option, and you could still enjoy the challenge and brag about your achievements in the other leagues. It’s a simple win-win situation.
