GGG, XP loss should obviously be on top of the issue queue.

XP loss doesn't make the game any more difficult, it's simply a time sink mechanic that makes you want to not die as often. It erases hours of XP I already gained with no way to recover it without the same repetitive grind.
Take the XP I gained in the map I died in, or let me recover it on my dead body, or scale monsters up to the 90s. Those are ways to make death important without erasing hours of my time which just makes me not want to waste anymore. Dying is a part of non HC, if I occasionally die it doesn't necessarily mean my build sucks or I'm playing content to high for my character, especially in an unbalanced EA game.
