25,364 players right now
37,327 24-hour peak

Not such great numbers for a Saturday night. ='[.]'=

Still top 50 games on steam. And tbh the difference between top 25 and top 50 is a couple thousands. I do not understand why people treat this as a disaster.. Abut 2/3rd of the months on last 3 years, POE1 did nto reach these numbers and somehow GGG was fine with that.

People really expected that a quarter million would be playing still by now? Is this community so delusional and disconnected from how proper functional humans behave? Sure, coudl be better? yes. But I would be BAFFLED if the number was above 100k for a game with less than half of its content delivered.

You basically supported what I wrote. 2 are below and one on same ballpark.

You proved my point. This is not a failure.. that is NORMAL retention for GGG (specially given that this game is HALF made)

You only proved that you like twisting facts. But ok.

baldurs gate 3 had 2k to 3k players daily while on early acccess.

what even is your point? people don't like playing unfinished games.
Its the most emisserating experience I have ever had in 40 years of gaming. Utter Dogshit for anyone not playing the top 5 meta builds.. any complaint is fobbed off by those running cookie cutter meta simp builds.

At this point what is even the point of all the possible build options granted by this dogshit passive tree, if only a handful of builds are successful? May as well just release the classes with set skillls, lightning spear, lightning arrow, etc and scrap the rest.

Fuck me its fuckin horrible seriously

Not true. I play spearfield based build, not meta and I am havign fun. True some classes and skills are HORRIBLE. I tryed Acolyte and omg it is indeed pure suffereing. But saying only the top meta is working is false.

I never said that.. but seems you did not even cared to read or understand the basic math. My statement is that you cannot really say how many players gave up from the game versus how many scaled down to HEALTHY playing time. No You cannot. Only GGG with logs on each account that logs in knows it.

Oh yea, absolutely.. if there's one thing gamers are known for it's limiting their game time each week, especially on weekends.

Hey while I've got your attention I've got some ocean front property on Luna and you would be the perfect buyer, I'll cut you a great deal!

Again. normal sane adults do that. If you are not one or do not have those in your social circle than You are the one with a problem.

Get a wife and see it for yuourself.. yes she will not care if you play a whole weekend when they release a game you love.. but she will kill you if you do not stop doing that after 2-3 weeks.

That is a terrible wife to behave like that, definitely not the norm in my experience. In any case we aren't talking about your marriage, we are talking about gamers who believe it or not extend beyond your personal experience.

The fact remains that gamers will play their chosen game for 4 - 12 hours a day unless ofcourse the game is bad, then they won't log on at all.. which is what we see when we look at the player data. 90% fewer daily peak!

Maybe just stop embarrassing yourself like this, the facts and evidence all directly refute your opinions.

What's yours ?
It's not that hard to read. My quote was narrowed down enough to make it clear.
He said PoE1 didn't, I showed that PoE1 did. That's about it, you make your own conclusions, I don't need them though.
The lulls in POE (the original POE) were because players naturally wander the last couple weeks before league end. They will play other things as they wait for the new league release. Then they come back. The numbers that are more interesting are the retention spikes. Almost every league the players come back to the game, growing each time.

By contrast POE2 started with 500k and then lost 250k when they released the patch. That is that 250k didn't come back to play the new patch and see what its all about.

So pull the all time graph and look at POE and then think, "Wow for a company with literally 0 marketing budget that is pretty awesome." POE2 has had massive hype, even accelerated by other execs that were worried about POE2 hurting their revenue (those execs are now giggling daily at the outcome). If GGG had truly made a sequel and put marketing behind it they were authentically concerned. They knew how good POE was to play for an ARPG fan.

As for the numbers, lets see what happens with 3.26 because my guess is POE1 vets come back, some POE2 bleed occurs from people saying "I want to try it" and then the forums will be FLOOODED with people stating the same thing that the vets still posting here have been saying. Namely that certain design decisions in POE2 are REALLY bad calls.
